POSITION:Administrator In Training
DEPARTMENT: Administration Exempt _XX__ Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Administrator
GENERAL PURPOSE: Is to assist in directing the day-to-day functions of the facility in accordance with current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern Long Term Care Facilities. In the absences of the Administrator you are charged with carrying out the resident care policies established by this facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: In addition to performing Essential Functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions based upon the requirements of the organization
1.Assist the administrator in planning developing, organizing implementing day-to-day functions of this facility, its programs and activities.
2.Assist in establishing policies that govern the Resident’s Rights to quality of life and care as defined by the Resident’s Comprehensive assessment and care plan.
3.Ensure that all employees, residents, visitors, and the general public follow established policies and procedures.
4.Assume the administrative authority responsibility and accountability of directing the activities and programs of the facility.
5.Represent the facility in dealing with outside agencies, including governmental agencies and third party payers, or providing an authorized representative of the facility when unable to attend such meetings.
6.Make week, inspections of the facility to assure that established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed. Report findings to the administrator.
7.Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
8.Assist in the setting the tone and atmosphere of the facility.
9.Act on the behalf of the administrator during his/her absence.
10.Assist in Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified quality deficiencies.
11.Serve as liaison to the administrator, medical staff, and other professional and supervisory staff.
12.Consult with department managers concerning the operations of their department to assist in eliminating/correcting problem areas, and/or improvement of services. Report such findings/solutions to the administrator.
13.Ensure that the facility is maintained in an operable le manner to perform such duties/services.
14.Assist in establishment and maintenance of an adequate accounting system that reflects the operating cost of the facility.
OTHER:
Regular attendance in conformance with standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the health care industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the facility. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with all applicable rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the facility. Employees who violate the rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS/BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Health Administration or related field.
Experience: Two to four years or work related skill, knowledge, or experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital or Long Term Care Facility, working knowledge of Long Term Care operational standards set forth in the Federal Register PREFERRED.
Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. See specific Archie Hendricks Sr. Nursing Facility standards.
